The tutors at Ridgeway College are all experienced counsellors and academic staff and are educated to a minimum of diploma level and/or hold an adult trainers certificate. The tutors and staff presently working for the college are:
Prof. Graham Cocking
Joint Principal Partner of Ridgeway College – who holds a Doctorate in the field of psychology, a Bachelors Degree in Counselling Psychology, a Diploma in Crisis Counselling and a Diploma in Sociology.
He is the senior partner in G C Counselling Service and is the Registrar of Members and Founding Member of The International Society of Professional Counsellors. Graham is the Principal of Ridgeway College and a CCC Registered Counsellor. Graham has written a number of works for counselling journals and his thesis is “An Analysis of Memory (False or repressed)”.
Graham is an accredited trainer and a Fellow of the Unifaculty and institute of Therapies Management’. Graham is also a Fellow of the Society of holistic therapists and coaches.
Graham currently offers hypnotherapy to private clients as well as supervision to student counsellors and qualified counsellors. Student rate offered for supervision, please contact Graham for more details.
Julia Hazelwood MBACP (Accred)/MISPC
Joint Principal Partner at Ridgeway College – Julia is a qualified clinical supervisor of counsellors and therapists, a BACP Accredited counsellor and a qualified and experienced Tutor of counselling skills and theory to Advanced Diploma level. Julia has a calm, supportive and encouraging approach to teaching and has a vast depth of knowledge and experience, holding an Advanced Diploma in Counselling Skills and Theory, and Diplomas in Counselling Psychology, Working Creatively in Therapy, CBT and Working with Children and Adolescents, Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy.
Julia has also studied for a year on a foundation course in Transactional Analysis at the Berne Institute, and runs a successful private practise in Psychotherapy in Woodhall Spa, Lincolnshire.
Julia has been awarded a Certificate of Accreditation by the Faculty of Management Science and The Institute of Therapies Management. Julia is an Accredited Trainer in the fields of Counselling and Professional Development and in the Training of Supervisors of Counsellors and Therapists.
Tracey is a qualified and experienced counsellor and holds a certificate in counselling skills and theory to Advanced Diploma level. She also has a certificate in couples counselling, working with complex trauma and a certificate of working with adult survivors of abuse.
Tracey is an associate member of the International Society for Professional counsellors (ISPC) and currently works in a busy GP Surgery as an in-house counsellor, where she has been a fully qualified and practising counsellor for the past two years.
Tracey is a warm, compassionate counsellor and tutor and is a valued member of our team at Ridgeway College. Her wealth of experience in the counselling profession is invaluable when working alongside students and her congruent approach to her work, clients and students is a valuable quality that immediately puts the students at ease.
Carolyn began her counselling journey with Ridgeway College, gaining her advanced diploma in counselling skills. Over the past 5 years she has gone on to develop her skills and experience through specialising in the field of Children and Young People’s therapy.
Carolyn is a member of the BACP and currently works as a Children and Young People’s practitioner within the NHS. Carolyn is passionate about developing opportunities for children to access therapy. Carolyn is enthusiastic about offering guidance and support to those who share the same passion. She offers a safe and welcoming environment for learners to consolidate and grow their skills and knowledge.
Dr Kenneth Bryden Wood
Who holds a Bachelors Degree in Business Studies, a Masters Degree in Laws and a Doctorate in International Marketing. He serves as an advisor to the college and is a member of the college accreditation board.
