This course is designed for counsellors and therapists who want to become more knowledgeable in the psychology behind counselling. This course will not teach you how to counsel but rather enable qualified counsellors to enhance their psychological understanding behind counselling. Counsellor training does not for instance train counsellors in personality disorders. This course gives depth to the counsellors existing training and enhances their understanding of the human condition at much deeper level. The areas of study include:

This course provides an easy route to understanding how to induce trance states and what these altered states of awareness enable the hypnotherapist to achieve to help their clients.

- Complete each unit successfully
- Write an essay in no less than 1000 words entitled: What it means to be a supervisor
- Provide a letter of recommendation from their current supervisory
- Provide evidence that you hold a diploma in counselling skills & theory and have a minimum of three years experience as a counsellor.

This educational workshop will offer you valuable information on how to work with clients that have suffered from Trauma. This workshop contains practical exercises where you can put into practise the skills learnt. This course offers 15 hours of Continued Professional Development for qualified counsellors/therapists.

Run over 5 Saturdays from September to December, 2017, this Diploma course will equip qualified counsellors to work creatively with their clients. This is an emotionally challenging course and provides valuable personal and professional development. The cost of this course is £600 and can be paid via monthly instalments. Counselling Adult Surviors of Sexual Abuse

- Workshop in Counselling Abuse Survivors
This workshop discusses the main areas of concern when working with adult survivors of abuse including short term and long term effects, counselling techniques and historical statistics. – Saturday 7th July, 2018 – 10 – 4pm
- Workshop on the Subject of Dissociative Identity Disorder
This workshop is an introduction into DID, how DID is a creative defence mechanism that enables the abuse survivor to cope with the day to day struggles of life. There is also a demonstration of counselling a DID client. – Saturday 11th August, 2018 – 10 – 4pm
- Workshop Discussing the Issues of False and Repressed Memory
This workshop discusses the issues of false and repressed memory and examines the evidence of the survivor’s ability to repress memories of abuse or are such repressed memories false created by over enthusiastic therapists. – Saturday 21st July, 2018 – 10 – 4pm

CBT Diploma Course Outline – This course is run over 10 Saturdays (please e-mail for dates) starting September, 2018.
There are 10 Modules each one requiring students to demonstrate their understanding through practise sessions and a written assignment.
Unit One – Understanding what CBT is. Overcome pre-conceived ideas. Understand negative core beliefs. Understanding what makes CBT different from other theories. Understand who benefits from CBT and why.
Unit Two – The Five Aspects of Life Experience Model. The history of CBT. Cognitive Dissonance. Integrating counselling approaches. Anxiety. ABC method. Self defeating beliefs.
Unit Three – CBT methods and approaches. Disputing methods. Cognitive Restructuring Therapy.
Unit Four – Attributional Therapy. Stress inoculation therapy.
Unit Five – Behaviour patterns. Procrastination. Thinking errors. Emotional Intelligence. Working with clients that evidence negative thought patterns.
Unit Six – Understanding goal setting and validation. Working with clients to enable them to set achievable, realistic goals in a way that suits both counsellor and client.
Unit Seven – Understanding Self-esteem issues. Building self-esteem.
Unit Eight – Understand stress. Working practically with the stressed client.
Unit Nine – Understand anxiety. Working with the anxious client.
Unit Ten – Understand depression. Use of the low mood workbook.
How to operate safely as a CBT therapist. Case study assessment.
Students will be given a copy of the Mind over Mood book by Greenberger and Padeski – book reviews and exercises are used with written permission from Guilford Press.
