Ridgeway College is an Organisational Member of BACP
Ridgeway College was formed in 1999 as a response to the ever-increasing demand for skilled counsellors and the lack of vacancies available. Since 1999 Ridgeway has trained many students in counselling. Some of these now work in private practice and others in clinics and medical centres. Some of our students have moved into the field of training other students to be counsellors.
We take pride in our work ethic here at Ridgeway College and all our members of staff are approachable and aim to assist and support our students at each stage of their education with us.
The courses currently taught by Ridgeway College include a course specifically designed for skilled experienced counsellors. This course is the Diploma in the Supervision of Counsellors and Therapists. Trained supervisors are hard to find and there is currently no legislation that defines a minimum qualification or experience in the profession for someone to be a supervisor of counsellors and therapists. Ridgeway now trains qualified counsellors to be supervisors on an accredited course. Counsellors must hold a minimum qualification of Diploma in counselling and have at least three years experience of working with clients. You will find more information on this course further in the prospectus.
All our tutors are practicing counsellors with years of experience working with clients. They are trained to a minimum of Advanced Diploma and have trained to be tutors. For details about our staff please visit our staff page.
Please call 01522 546554 or email email@example.com if you have any questions.
WHY STUDY WITH RIDGEWAY?
Do you care? Do the lives of friends, family and colleagues interest you? Are you interested in the way people’s minds work? Are you a natural listener or are you keen to help others? We are confident that all of our courses are suitable for anyone to learn if you can answer ‘yes’ to any of the above questions. In today’s society there is a growing need for an extra ‘listening ear’ or someone who can provide guidance and counselling. We are confident that a course in this prospectus can enhance your professional performance. This also applies to people in management positions, teachers – in fact, any job where you need to ensure people are able to work together and feel good about themselves and their work.
At Ridgeway we have firm foundations in psychology, counselling and education. Our tutors come from a range of backgrounds and have great experience in psychology, counselling and education. As a college, we are committed to training students in these fields and abide by a shared philosophy and beliefs. The college believes that:
- Training should be available to all members of society
- Training should be available to students for reasonable fees
- Successful students should receive professional recognition for their qualifications, for the benefit of their personal development and ultimately to the benefit of their clients
We are always happy to help and can be contacted via email or the telephone – we will try to get back to you as soon as possible! However, we do not anticipate many problems as our courses are self-contained and the course material is very supportive in itself.
